This year we started a new project of truffle farming in south of Bulgaria.
This country has a great potential to grow truffles, burgundy truffles in the north and in the Black Sea coast, and several areas suitable to farm black truffles and bianchetto in the south, close to the borderline with Greece.
BTW we had the opportunity to taste the local Burgundy ones and were lovely.
Now that several grants for rural development from the European Community have moved to these less developed countries in Europe, they have the chance to use truffles as a paradigm for rural areas to create a new business, as it happened in central Spain the last decade.
