New truffle growers association in Chile

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to give a lecture in the first summer truffle fair in Bellmunt, Teruel (Spain). A lovely small village (just 90 souls live there all year long) that could create a charming truffle fair (with no public money) that attrack people and traders from all over Spain.
It’s amazing how truffle can be a powerfull tool for rural development and how these fairs can help to add knowledge to a natural, local and sometimes undervalued product like our summer truffle.
In the picture some toasts with summertruffle and olive oil…simple but lovely!

On the other hand, I am delighted to announce that the first Truffle Growers Association in Chile has just been created!
Its chairman, Javier Rozas, just told me that they are working on a website, but anyone interested to contact them, can use this email address:
I’m sure in the comming years they’ll become as productive as the aussies one.

All the best,
Marcos S. Morcillo

Nice post Marcos – as Secretary of the Australian Association I’ll get in touch with Javier. Thanks for helping to build global cooperation between Growers’ Associations around the world.

    • Thanks Nigel!
I hope you’re enjoying the season. It’s a pitty I could not attend your Annual Growers Meeting this year. Let’s see if I can come down to join you next year.
All the best from a bloody hot Barcelona,
